Chemical Etching This process is used to achieve Satin/Matt finishes on aluminium parts prior to anodising. It is particularly suited to aluminium extrusions where a heavy etching treatment will hide most die-lines and other surface imperfections whilst leaving an attractive decorative finish. As with chemical brightening, it should be noted that different aluminium alloys can produce differing results.
